Our Favorite Lunch Spots Near Hygge

Every day around 11:30 a.m. Hygge residents start asking each other, “Where are you going for lunch today?”

Chowing down. ???

It changes day to day, but here are some of our favorite lunch options near Hygge:

Rhino Market

I hate the word “bae,” but Rhino is bae. It’s there for you when you’re unsure about life, when you need an old friend and when you need something warm. Plus, it always has a Lenny Boy kombucha with your name on it.

I could write 2,000 words on Rhino with a detailed breakdown of every menu item, but I’ll just give you some quick bullet points.

What to order:

  • Reuben
  • Rhino Chicken Salad
  • Chicken Torta
  • Chaud Legumes

Rhino also has good breakfast options. The breakfast burrito will bring you back to life. And it has Pure Intentions cold brew on tap. Need I say more?

If you’re feeling really adventurous, snag a brownie at the cash register. Go on, you know you want one.

Pinky’s

Pinky’s is known for its heavier options, but it actually has a wide range of stuff to choose from.

What to order:

  • Buffalo Shrimp Salad
  • Tahini Salad
  • Pimp’n Fries
  • Skrimpz
  • Ding Dong Style Chicken Sandwich/Burger

Pinky’s is a great lunch option if you’re ordering out. It’s right down the street so you can call in your order and it’s ready in 10 minutes.

Luna’s Living Kitchen

Atherton Mill is just a short drive away. If you want to take clients out to lunch or treat yourself to a delicious and healthy meal—yes, those two words can be used in the same sentence—this is where you should go.

What to order:

  • Rawco Taco
  • Harvest Arugula Salad
  • Avocado & Basil Sandwich

I dream about the Rawco Taco with hot sauce. A lot of hot sauces try too hard to be hot and forget about the flavor, but this one is both spicy and delicious.

I heard the Volcano Juice is worth the money. So Garrett hand delivered one to me yesterday—how nice—and boy oh boy it was good. If juices are your thing, get one of those for the road.

Draught

Draught has everything: burgers, sandwiches, salads, wings….beer.

What to order:

  • Blueberry Walnut Salad
  • Greek Salad
  • Fried Chicken Sandwich
  • Third Ward Special
  • Pimento Cheese Fritters

The Blueberry Walnut Salad is a favorite, mostly because it has ample amounts of goat cheese. But you can get salmon, chicken or shrimp on top of it. Just beware, you might walk out spending a little bit more here than some of your other options.

P.S. — Draught has $3 beer and half off wings on Mondays.

Other goodies nearby:

  • Chick-fil-A — EAT MORE CHICKIN
  • Little Village Grill — Best bang for your buck
  • Publix — Pub subs for life
  • Savor — Casseroles that rival your grandma’s secret recipe
  • Latta Arcade — Every kind of restaurant imaginable + bubble tea
  • Picante — For when you’re feeling Chipotle, but not feeling the drive to Chipotle
  • Mellow Mushroom — PIZZA
