Zero to Ten with Mark Shropshire
We know that more people than ever are working from home since the pandemic first hit the US in full swing last March. Countless organizations and companies have given up their office spaces and have committed to a work from home set up for the foreseeable future. For a lot of folks, it’s been a big, big change, and it might be here to stay for a while.
Of course, it’s not entirely new for some. There are plenty of companies out there that have completely remote workforces, and longtime hyggefam member Mark Shropshire works at one of them. For the past 5 years, Mark has worked remotely for a company based in Atlanta.
This might make you think that when everything went remote over the past year it was easier on Mark, but the truth is it wasn’t at all. Mark is someone we consider as an OG – basically, he’s been in our walls doing his thing for several years now because he doesn’t love to work from home all the time. He needs to switch it up every once in a while. The pandemic has made that difficult for him.
Still, when we talked with Mark it was easy to hear the joy and positivity in his voice. We asked him what his tips were for surviving long-term remote work, and how he’s found a way to keep going through… ya know *waves hand vaguely* all of this. In this episode, he talks about how he’s found ways to connect safely with others and some of the passion projects he’s thrown himself into in order to keep his creative juices flowing. You can actually check some of these out on his website – click here.
Otherwise, give the episode a listen and try some of these things out for yourself.
